Description
Ground cinnamon is a spice made from the inner bark of several tree species from the genus Cinnamomum. It’s widely used in both sweet and savory dishes, as well as in baking and beverages. The bark is stripped from the trees and dried. As it dries, it curls into rolls known as cinnamon sticks or quills. These quills are then ground to produce cinnamon powder, which is the common form of cinnamon used in cooking and baking.
